King, Merle Haggard, and the Allman Brothers. Marlowe’s songs explore the polarities of good and evil in an intriguing blend of lyrics featuring lost loves and hopeful musings. His 2013 album, “Silver and Gold,” is his third release since his first EP, “Where You Are,” released in 2010 and his first full length, “Eighty Nine,” released in 2011. For ''Silver and Gold,'' Marlowe teamed up with brothers, producer/drummer Kevin Sellors and bass player Ryan Sellors, to form his new back-up band the Dead Flowers. During the recording process, Marlowe recruited Joey Huffman on organ (Hank Jr., Matchbox 20) and Nathan Bedingfield on electric guitar (Aaron Shust). “Silver and Gold” is a return to the roots of rock n roll, country, blues, and honest songwriting; reminiscent of Tom Petty and the Black Crowes but with a modern edge inspired by childhood in the 90’s. ...read moreSaturday Apr 1, 2017Curtis (aka Cortini) has traveled the world for over 20 years performing his original music and amazing crowds with his phenomenal guitar playing. But they’re much more than just a group of revivalists trying to create a period piece. Powerhouse singer Velle and her band will settle for nothing less than bringing these classic sounds glimmering into the now with a fresh, new contemporary sheen. It’s this inviting and accessible bravado that has scored the band critical acclaim from outlets such as The New York Daily News, MTV, Paste and more. And in addition to their critical success, at a time when record sales are at an all- time industry low, the completely independent, DIY-minded Velle and the Soulphonics sold a quarter-million downloads of their single, “My Dear” on iTunes, landing them in the top 30 on Billboard’s Heatseeker charts and at a stunning #4 on the iTunes R&B charts when their debut album It’s About Time was released in 2012. The group has shared bills with megastars and indie press darlings alike, including Erykah Badu, The XX, Goodie Mob, Gary Clark Jr., Animal Collective, Feist, Bush, The Wailers, Dumpstaphunk, Lee Fields, Bombino and Kendrick Lamar. ...read moreMonday Apr 10, 2017Thursday Apr 13, 2017Monday Apr 17, 2017Thursday Apr 20, 2017Friday Apr 21, 2017Local heartthrob, kitty lover, man bun wearer Mark Stokes will make your heart and ears melt with his voice and adorable face. ...read moreSaturday Apr 22, 2017A singer-songwriter born and raised in western North Carolina, Austin Coleman grew up to the sounds of southern rock, classic rock, and folk-country music.
