About Us

The North Georgia Chamber Symphony, Inc. is a non-profit organization, based in Dahlonega. We rehearse Tuesdays from 7 to 9:30 at Dahlonega United Methodist Church, August through May. Membership is open to all string players in the area, by audition. We perform concerts in May and December, supplementing our group with professional musicians from all over the southeast. We perform regularly in Blairsville, Dahlonega, Gainesville, Cumming and other locations.

The North Georgia Chamber Symphony is proud to present three live concerts in October. Social distancing will be practiced at all events, and masks will be provided.

Martha Gardner is our violin soloist on an energetic Violin Concerto in G Major, written in the 1700’s by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. An accomplished violinist, swordsman and horseman, he led the most famous orchestra in Paris, and was an associate of Mozart, and was a widely celebrated black composer. Martha will also be our soloist on Autumn, from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. Among the other selections we will perform are Peter Warlock’s Capriol Suite for String Orchestra, and the Flower Duet from Delibes’ Lakme.
We will close with Motown Forever, a medley of My Girl, Stop! In the Name of Love, I Heard it Through the Grapevine and I’ll Be There, and “Duke” Ellington’s It Don’t Mean a
