Are you a busy mom who longs to take time for yourself without feeling guilty? Are you ready for some much needed pampering and fun with other like-minded mamas? Then join us on a fabulous retreat crafted just for you! As the sun rises in the beautiful Northern Georgia mountains, the only sound you hear are the birds chirping outside your window. You slowly rise and take a peek outside. Stillness and wilderness surrounds you. About the retreat: We all need a helping hand from time to time, and after you enter motherhood it’s no different. In fact, it’s in the best interest of your whole family that you find support in your journey. The Mommy Time Out Retreat will assist you in focusing inward to reveal your deepest desires, as a mother and as a woman. We will focus on self-care techniques and mindful tools that you can apply to your daily life once you return home. This retreat will be a tune-up for your mind, body and soul. The Resort: Located just an hour north of Atlanta, Dahlonega Spa Resort feels like a world away. As you go through the winding road up the mountain, you experience the tranquility and beauty that surrounds you. The Cuisine: As part of your retreat package, all of your meals are included during the retreat, starting with dinner on night of arrival, breakfast, lunch and dinner the following days, and breakfast on day of departure. You will be presented with a variety of nourishing home-cooked meals. The menu will change daily and feature plant-based dishes. Some of the featured dishes might include soups, salads, stews, specialty sandwiches, and desserts. The Delights: The beauty of being a world away in the wilderness of the mountains is that you can really disconnect from the noises of everyday and tune in inside. Get a massage, take a nap, walk on the nature trails, go into town, visit a winery, or partake in the art of doing nothing. These things await your arrival. The Excursion: Also included in the retreat package is a trip to the beautiful Amicalola Falls State Park. Expect to witness breath-taking views of the tumbling waters from the many trails and staircases from the tallest cascading waterfall in the Southeast. The Winery Trip: As an additional retreat option, we will offer a wine tour to a local winery, touring the vineyard, learning about wine making, as well as enjoying a wonderful, private wine tasting. This Mommy Time Out retreat is brought to you by & led by Angélica Williams and Dori Thomsen. What’s Included: ~Accommodations in double occupancy for 3 nights ~All meals, provided at the Pura Vida Restaurant on property ~Transportation, admission and tips for our group excursion ~Daily group yoga and meditation sessions ~Group activities and circling ~Gratuity tips to the resort staff during your stay ~Use of all amenities at the resort – Jacuzzi, labyrinth, nature trails, lobby (games, books), & butler’s pantry (includes freshly brewed coffee, hot water, tea, and homemade granola.) ...read more

Were you a child or teenager when your mother died? Do you often long for a mother’s guidance and care? Does your life story feel like it’s split into “before” and “after” – and that a piece of you is still stuck in the “before”? Do you often feel like an outsider among family and friends? Would you like to share three days with other women who understand? Acclaimed authors and mother loss experts Hope Edelman (Motherless Daughters, Motherless Mothers) and Claire Bidwell Smith (The Rules of Inheritance, After This) will take women on a three-day journey to share stories from their pasts, discuss their present-day lives as women without mothers, and set gentle intentions for their futures. Together we'll examine issues such as the fear of dying young, resistance to self-care, and feeling ''stuck'' at the age we were when our mothers died. Using small and large group discussions, experiential work, and storytelling techniques we'll explore the unique strengths and weaknesses that stem from early mother loss and the opportunities they offer for continued growth. Hope and Claire are two of the most experienced and well-known voices in this field. This weekend is a rare opportunity to work with them together and to immerse in a healing experience within a community of women who share similar stories. Come prepared to share, stretch, cry, laugh, learn, and grow. This workshop is for women who were up to age 21 when their mothers died. We ask for at least one year to have passed between the date of loss and the first day of this workshop. ...read more
