Event Description:
An all-female Alt-Country band from NY. ANTIGONE RISING set out to “play better than the boys and make sure their fans feel like family.”  They a rich history and a kind of storybook arc to their career. They were the first band on Starbucks Hear Music Label and Lava Records where they achieved big success quickly. They have opened for The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Rob Thomas, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts,The Bangles, and The Indigo Girls. Antigone Rising’s music is a happy, upbeat blend of pop, rock and country and their live performances are a fun evening of incredible musicianship, soaring 3-part harmonies and witty banter. The band traveled to The Middle East and Vietnam as Cultural Ambassadors for the U.S. doing outreach programs, master classes and public concerts. ANTIGONE RISING recently launched Girls Rising, a nonprofit to inspire young girls to pursue non-traditional careers and educate all kids that it’s ok to play, think, act & be different.
