Dahlonega's 4th of July Celebration
Visitors will be moved by the powerful visual of more than 700 memorial markers and American flags that are displayed along the major roadways and corridors leading into Dahlonega and around the Historic Downtown Square, honoring the brave veterans who fought to protect our freedom. A Patriotic Ceremony will be held on the lawn of the historic Gold Museum to celebrate our nation’s independence.
Arrive early to participate in or spectate the Firecracker 5k race, then try your hand at watermelon cutting, sponsored by The Dahlonega Nugget; visit the All American Market and spend time at Home Depot’s Kids’ Corner. The Independence Day Parade through the historic square begins around 11am and ends just in time to grab a bite to eat for lunch before heading over to the Adventure Zone.
