Event Description:
Capoeira is a beautiful and acrobatic Brazilian martial art of African-Brazilian origins. World-renowned capoeira masters Mestre Francisco Antônio Rodrigues da Silva (“Mestre Fran”) and Mestra Sara founded Grupo Maculelê in 1991 in Londrina, a city in the state of Paraná in Brazil. In 2002, they founded Grupo Maculelê in Atlanta and brought this graceful art form to the metro Atlanta area. Under the tutelage of mestres Fran and Sara, the academy strives to inspire students to find their own inner strength, confidence, and talents, all the while engaging with an authentically Brazilian tradition that dates back over 400 years.
