4th of July Parade
Annual Dahlonega 4th of July Parade Schedule:
9:00am – 10:30am Line up on Memorial Drive

11:00am – Parade begins
4,000 people typically attend the annual Dahlonega 4th of July Parade. Arrive early to claim the best viewing spot! Sam McDuffie will be announcing from the Chamber Plaza.
Barricades will be placed at South Chestatee North Chestatee, and West Main Streets for the security of our the viewers and parade floats.

Rotary will begin handing out flags in the square at 9AM

We are very excited to announce our Dahlonega 4th of July Parade grand marshal is Employee of the Year Ricky Iwanski! Ricky’s dedication and commitment to the City is demonstrated by 45 years of faithful service. During that time, he has not only performed countless duties in nearly all field departments, but has also provided the City mentorship to dozens of other coworkers under several City Managers. Congratulations Ricky!
 
4th of July Celebration
Here is a full list of events taking place on July 4th!
 
8:30AM Firecracker 5k
The starting and finish line will be located at East Main Street between the Welcome Center and the Chamber

10:00AM Car Show
Located at at the Lumpkin Admin complex 342 Courthouse Hill off E. Main Street

10:00AM Free Fun Zone
Located in Hancock Park
Bounce houses in the park from 10:00 am- 7:00 pm

11:00AM 4th of July Parade
Rotary will begin handing out flags in the square at 9AM
Barricades will be placed at South Chestatee, North Chestatee, and West Main.

12:00PM Patriotic Ceremony
Located at the steps of the Court House

1:00PM Family Friendly Entertainment
Located in Hancock Park
Face painters, balloon twisters, caricature artists, stilt walkers, jugglers and magicians will be walking in the park from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm

3:00PM Dahlonega Action Dogs
Located at Hancock Park Pavilion

4:00PM 1st Annual Hotdog Eating Contest
Located and hosted at Chastain Southern Catering & Outback Cafe'
Sign up by July 1st to be entered into the contest
$10.00 entry fee. Winner receives $100.00 cash
5:30PM Live Music
Located at the Hancock Pavilion
Featuring the "Jive Revival" band

@ Dark Firework Show
Located on the UNG Drill Field
