A real home-town parade officially bringing Santa to town occurs the first Saturday in December. The event begins Saturday, November 10, 2018 with a 5K and 10K Charity Run (Run for Rangers) at 8 a.m. beginning in Hancock Park, Dahlonega, GA. Registration is $30. This will be followed by a parade in downtown Dahlonega at 11 a.m. that will be followed by a County Music Festival in Hancock Park. Kids play area, food and beverage, beer and wine, and merchandise tends will surround the park. There are 7 musicians scheduled and the event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. A weather contingency venue will be planned in the event of rain.
Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega Ghosts, goblins, witches, wizards and more will be wandering the streets of Downtown Dahlonega on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega. This event, brought to the community by the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce, DDA, and downtown merchants, provides a safe environment for parents to bring children trick or treating during daylight hours. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 31 from 5:30 PM to 7 PM, rain or shine. Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega is intended for children ages 12 and under and appropriate costumes are appreciated! Concord Baptist will also be hosting music and games in Hancock Park from 5:30-8:30. For safety reasons, the roads will be closed and re-routed during the event.
