Festivals

Festivals are an integral part of Dahlonega's rich heritage and are a superb way to take in the outdoor beauty of the area. From the Dahlonega Trail Fest in March to the Old Fashioned Christmas celebration in December, more than a dozen fun-filled festivals are held throughout the year.

Trick or Treat Dahlonega Ghosts, goblins, witches, wizards and more will be wandering the streets of Downtown Dahlonega on October 31st, 2014 at Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega. This event, brought to the community by the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Merchants, provides a safe environment for parents to bring children trick or treating during daylight hours. The event will take place on Friday, October 31st from 4:30pm to 6:00pm, rain or shine. Trick-or-Treat Dahlonega is intended for children ages 12 and under and appropriate costumes are appreciated! The 5th Annual Dahlonega Trail Fest will be held on March 27-29, 2015 to celebrate Dahlonega's designation as an AT Trail Community by the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. Come celebrate ''Spring on Springer'' in Dahlonega, the southern gateway to the Appalachian Trail. The Trail Fest will include camping for hikers, speakers, films, music, shuttles to Springer Mountain and Amicalola Falls, equipment vendors, and workshops on such topics as safety, camping techniques, and equipment. Fun trail related activities such as a 10k and 5k trail run, information on area hikes, and local tours will be held as well as kid friendly outdoor activities. ... read more
